WIRE STRIPPING TOOLS

Wire Stripping Tools

Match a replacement blade, cassette or wire stop

Record the full host model, the replacement part number and the result the part needs to deliver. Similar blade shapes can hide different mounts or profiles.

Read the exact tool code

Check the stamping or instruction sheet rather than the color or housing shape. In the KNIPEX 12 12 series, a model number can change both the blade profile and the replacement code.

Compare the effect on the cable

On coax tools, two cartridges may cover the same RG families but differ in whether they have a cable stop. Match the connector profile and the original cartridge before deciding if a change helps.

Maintain the part and recheck fit

Follow the manufacturer's care and replacement instructions for the exact part. Store sharp replacement cartridges protected and check the tool on compatible de-energized sample material after service before committing a batch.

Guide questions

Will a replacement listing include the handle?

Check package contents and exact model. A cassette listing typically requires a compatible tool body.

Can I choose a blade by AWG alone?

No. Check that its mount, blade profile and exact host model match.

What changes when a coax cassette adds a stop?

The stop gives an insertion reference. Check that its resulting profile matches the connector.

Which tool suits the job?

  1. The Jonard UST-205 has no stop, while UST-225 has stops on both sides. Match the original tool and the connector profile before choosing either.

  2. The IDEAL 45-097 is the complete Stripmaster. The L-4994 is its replacement blade pair. Choose the pair when the tool body is already on the bench and the blade fit is confirmed.
