Choosing coaxial cable strippers

Identify the full cable and connector

Start with the jacket's RG marking and shield construction. Compare that with the cartridge's documented family. Then look at the connector manufacturer's strip dimensions, since a suitable cable family does not guarantee the correct two-level cut.

Check the supplied cassette and stop

A fixed cable stop controls insertion. A no-stop cassette may be available for the same cable families, and can require a different preparation workflow. Check which is included before choosing a complete tool or buying a replacement.

Can the same cassette strip RG6 and RG11?

Some can. Others are intended for RG59 and RG6 only. Check the exact cartridge and the relevant opening.

What is a two-level strip?

The tool makes separate cuts for layers of the coax cable at the distances its cartridge specifies.

Does matching the cable type guarantee connector fit?
